Painted Architectures/Arquitecturas Pintadas

The Thyssen Bornemisza Museum and the Fundación Caja Madrid are jointly hosting an exhibtion which brings together some of the best known paintings of architecutre. The exhibtion which opened last Monday  features works dating from the Renaissance period up to the 19th century produced by greats such as Duccio, Bellotto and Canaletto.  The Thyssen will focus predominantly on art which shows urban scenes to give a context to a painting, whilst the works on display at the Fundación Caja Madrid shows how cityscapes became ever more a protagonist in art. The exhibtions will run up until the 22nd January.

Fundación Caja Madrid, Plaza de San Martín 1, nearest metros Callao, Sol or Ópera. Free entry, closed on Mondays.

Thyssen Bornemisza Museum, Paseo del Prado 8, metro Banco de España or Atocha. Entance 8€  or 13€ for a combined ticket. Closed Mondays.
