MADRID SUNDAY SHOPPING

We went out today to check out the Madrid Sunday shopping organized in the Barrio Salamanca from May 27 to June 27.
Most of the shops are open and offering discounts and special prices. The bars are offering a beer and a tapa for 3€.

Every so often you can find a stand with these girls offering info- in English- and they can also find a cycle to take two to take up and down with your heavy shopping!

All over the Barrio Salamanca you´ll find lots of shoes, all designed by Zapatos de España or the Spanish footwear industry. On June 10 there is a photo competition!

What more can you ask for? Madrid, great shopping, discounts, prizes and great weather!!!

MUF at the Madrid stand at FITUR 2012

We were at FITUR this year and as usual it is getting better and better! This is an obligatory international tourism trade fair. Here is a video post of the Madrid stand. They were presenting the collaboration between New York and Madrid. We will have some video with Gabriel Escarrer from Meliá, Gabriel Escarrer, CEO Melia Hotels International, Carlos Abellá, General Manager Sales and Marketing Paradores Hotels and
Ernesto Orillac, Vice Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Panamá.

Non profesionals can visit FITUR on Saturday and Sunday. There are lots of traditional events planneed by the different stands.

MuF visited the National Museum of Natural Sciences of Madrid (MNCN)

MuF visited the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales today with children... a rainy day and we thought the Museum might be a nice visit... it was very successful with the kids and the grownups- we definitely advise a visit!!!

The National Museum of Natural Sciences of Madrid is a great place for kids and visiting students preparing for a paper on Natural Science. Those who enjoy the history of Natural Science will find the museum more than interesting. With almost 6 million species to be found, among the treasures are several dinosaurs some of which belonged to the original collection of 200 years. Founded originally by King Charles III in 1771, a great collector himself the museum has grown around his original pieces. The Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales has a very important collection of meteorites, a collection that dates back to the middle of the nineteenth century. Once upon a time there was an African pigmy in full dress, but he has since been taken away.
